Sen. Tim Scott (R- SC) said he has reached the number of individual donors that the Republican National Committee is requiring candidates to have before taking the debate stage in Miami in November.
“So excited that America responded, and they responded quickly,” Scott told Fox News after speaking at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual conference in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon. “We have exceeded the 70,000 individual donors that we have needed.”

“Thank you, America,” Scott said. “Thank you to the conservatives who’ve chipped in a dollar, five dollars, and some even $500. What a blessing to live in a country that has that kind of response.”
When asked what he is looking forward to at the next debate, the senator said, “I certainly hope that we spend some time on Israel. Spend some time on the importance of standing shoulder to shoulder and back to back with Israel.”
The Republican debate will be the first since Hamas launched deadly terrorist attacks on Israel on Oct. 7. At the summit, Scott criticized members of Congress who support anti-Israel groups and students who’ve spread similar messages.
“We have to cut out the rot of antisemitism from our society,” Scott said. “We need cultural chemotherapy to fight this cancer.”

The RNC raised the polling and donor thresholds for the third debate, now requiring at least 70,000 individual donors and polling at least 4% in two national polls or 4% in a national poll and one early state poll, and the polls must be conducted after Sept. 1. Like previous debates, all candidates must pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee.
Several GOP presidential candidates traveled to Nevada for the RJC event, including former President Donald Trump. Former Vice President Mike Pence announced that he would be dropping his bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Saturday at the event.
