This settles it … I need to go to Yellowstone one day.
If you read my blog, then you’re very well aware that there’s a very small amount of stuff (like the stock market and sports betting) that makes me feel more alive than the worlds of weather and wildlife. Nature is an absolutely beautiful thing.
When it comes to Mother Nature, you never know what you’re going to experience until you actually do. It’s true for a storm even if you’re listening to forecasts 24/7, it’s true for a random and terrifying run-in with a grizzly bear. Nature is a realm that can easily go from magical to bone-chilling in two seconds flat. That’s just how it is with one of God’s most brilliant creations.

Recently, the Instagram account @bigskywildlife posted an eye-catching image of an enormous, blood-stained wolf paw print discovered in Yellowstone National Park.
The print belongs to a wolf from the Junction Butte pack and was left behind after the animal apparently killed a bison.
Check out the view:
This is a stark, violent and incredibly mesmerizing reminder that nature doesn’t care about our comfort zones.
We live in a world that loves to Disneyfy the animal kingdom. We scroll through videos of pandas tumbling down slides or otters holding hands, and we lull ourselves into thinking the wild is a playground.
But that paw print?
That crimson stamp in the snow?
That is the receipt for the rent nature charges.
