“It Was Leaked!” – Rubio Says Pentagon Contractor Leaked Maduro Capture Plans to the Media (VIDEO)

Secretary of State Marco Rubio testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Maduro’s capture.

Rubio testified that Maduro’s capture was actually leaked to the media by a Pentagon contractor.

As previously reported, the FBI raided the home of a Washington Post reporter who obtained classified and illegally leaked information from a Pentagon contractor.

Feds executed a search warrant at the Alexandria, Virginia, home of WaPo reporter Hannah Natanson earlier this month as part of an investigation into a Maryland system administrator who has a top security clearance.

The contractor who stashed the classified documents at his home, Aurelio Perez-Lugones, is currently in jail.

FBI agents reportedly found classified intelligence reports in Perez-Lugones’ lunchbox and basement.

Rubio said the Pentagon contractor leaked the Maduro capture plans.

The US Army’s Delta Force Captured Maduro earlier this month. The leaked plans could have been the special operators in harms way.

“The truth is, this was leaked! Leaked by a contractor at the Department of War. Had it been published it would’ve endangered the lives of people or canceled the ability to carry out the mission!” Rubio said.

“The truth of the matter is that this mission could not have been briefed to Congress because it wasn’t even in the realm of possible until very late in December, when all of our efforts to negotiate with Maduro had failed and the president was finally presented these options and made these decisions,” he said.

Rubio continued, “It was also a trigger-based operation.”

“It may never have happened. It required a number of factors to all align at the right place at the right time in a very limited window. And it wasn’t even clear if it was ever going to be possible,” he said.
