President Donald Trump is missing the perfect opportunity to change public opinion on two key issues critical to voter support.

Housing affordability is one of America’s most pressing economic challenges. Shockingly, Trump suggested during a cabinet meeting Thursday that he wants to “drive housing prices up.” And while his reasoning makes sense, as he wants homeowners to avoid losing value in their homes, his verbiage is the exact opposite of what voters want to hear. Instead, he should point to an actual win in housing affordability from his administration’s push for mass deportations.
