Pima Police confirmed the blood found on the doorstep of Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother’s home was that of Nancy Guthrie.
This is the first confirmation that Guthrie was injured in some way while being forcibly removed from her home Sunday morning.
“The blood on the porch came back to Nancy,” police said. “I want to be very clear, at this time we have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case.”
“We’re not there yet,” police said.
The search intensified as the mother of the “Today” host requires daily medication for survival.
“Right now we believe Nancy is still out there. We want her home,” the police said during Thursday’s presser, noting they “Have been working ‘round the clock” to bring Nancy home.
The police called this a “Very large, complex situation with a lot of moving parts.”
“We’re at that stage where sometimes we’re waiting – we’re waiting for analysis, we’re waiting for lab reports,” they said.
Police addressed recent reports that surveillance cameras at Nancy’s home were removed or destroyed.
“We are not confirming that any cameras were destroyed or smashed at that house,” police said Thursday.
Sheriff Nanos will hold a media briefing today at approximately 11:30 a.m. Arizona time (MST)
(1:30 p.m. Eastern Time).

Updating the investigation into a vehicle at the home, police said, “The car that was at the home – that’s standard practice – scene processing with the vehicle.”
Police said they also investigated an Uber driver.
“We did speak to an Uber because Nancy – we confirmed did take an Uber to the family residence.”
Police refused to answer questions regarding forced entry at Nancy’s hone.
“Someone mentioned there is forced entry I have no idea where that came from.”
“Whether its forced entry or not forced entry is not something we’re discussing,” police said.
The FBI issued a reward at the closing of the press conference.
“A 50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie, or information leading to the arrest or conviction” of those responsible.
They also confirmed, “we are aware of a ransom letter that was sent.
“We are taking it seriously,” they said. Police said they arrested one imposter attempting a ransom, and looked into three total ransom reports.
“Any action taken on any ransom is ultimately decided by the family,” the FBI said.
They issued a statement to the person or people responsible for Guthrie’s disappearance.
“Do the right thing,” they urged.

“You still have the time to do the right thing before this becomes a much worse situation for you,” they said.
