Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) attacked the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the largest pro-Israel PAC, on Tuesday, calling the organization “racist” for highlighting her voting record.

“AIPAC endorsed scores of Jan 6th insurrectionists. They are no friend to American democracy,” she wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “They are one of the more racist and bigoted PACs in Congress as well, who disproportionately target members of color.”

AIPAC, which includes 3 million members across every congressional district, supports a slate of pro-Israel policies. Its corresponding PAC endorses candidates across party affiliation, including both Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and many other prominent politicians.

On Monday, AIPAC shared on X a list of congress members who voted against a resolution to establish that the United States stands with Israel following the terrorist attacks perpetrated by Iran-backed Hamas. It specifically called out Ocasio-Cortez, Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), and Summer Lee (D-PA), observing that they “Opposed condemning Hamas.”

In an initial statement following the fatal terror attacks on Israel, Ocasio-Cortez called for Israel and Hamas to deescalate and institute a ceasefire.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote in a recent op-ed that a ceasefire is not an option. “Just as the U.S. wouldn’t have agreed to a ceasefire after the bombing of Pearl Harbor or after the terrorist attack on 9/11, Israel will not agree to a cessation of hostilities with Hamas after the horrific attacks of Oct. 7,” he said.
