Republicans have about seven months to turn the ship around or risk Democrats holding Congressional power for the last two years of President Donald Trump’s term, polling shows.
This isn’t hyperbole or alarmism. Republicans have squandered a once-in-a-generation coalition that gave them control of both chambers of Congress and the White House in 2024. It’s not that voters have changed their wishlist. Polling shows that Americans still want their 2024 mandate enacted. However, they no longer believe the GOP when it claims it will give it to them.
