JUST IN: Iran Suspends Negotiations with US Over Israeli Strikes in Lebanon
Iran has suspended peace negotiations with the US on Monday, saying Israel’s attacks in Southern Lebanon violated the fragile ceasefire.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, negotiations between the US and Iran were ongoing as Trump sought amendments to the “largely negotiated” framework for a 60-day “memorandum of understanding” (MOU) that he announced last weekend.
Included in the plan would be a 60-day ceasefire extension, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, concessions from Iran on nuclear enrichment, and an Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Israel reportedly made its deepest incursion inside Lebanon in over two decades, seizing Beaufort castle in Southern Lebanon.
Israel planned to continue strikes in Beirut on Monday after ordering the evacuation of the Dahiyeh suburb, according to Fox's Trey Yingst.

US Central Command announced this morning that Iranian ballistic missiles were intercepted targeting US forces in Kuwait last night.

Per NBC:
“Due to the continuation of the Zionist regime’s actions in Lebanon and given that Lebanon was one of the preconditions of the ceasefire and that this ceasefire has now been violated on all fronts ... the Iranian negotiating team will suspend ‘talks and the exchange of texts through mediators,’” the semiofficial news agency Tasnim reported.
The U.S. military and Iran exchanged strikes over the weekend and into Monday — the latest outburst of violence amid an ostensible ceasefire agreed to in early April.
Tasnim added that the government would consider a full closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial shipping route that carried a fifth of the world’s oil supply before the war, with the aim of punishing Israel and its supporters.
The government did not comment officially, although official statements are often transmitted through the media.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi released a statement on X, writing, "The ceasefire between Iran and the US is unequivocally a ceasefire on all fronts, including in Lebanon."
"The US and Israel are responsible for the consequences of any violation," he added, describing the Israeli attacks as a "violation of the ceasefire on all fronts."
