The transgender romantic partner of alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson has received limited immunity for an April statement he provided to authorities, according to a June 16 court filing.
Lance Twiggs received “use-immunity” for a recorded April 20 statement he provided to authorities, prosecutors said in the filing, according to Fox News. Prosecutors want to use Twiggs’ recorded statement about Robinson as well as his communications with his lover at the time of Kirk’s assassination during a July preliminary hearing, according to Fox News.
“On April 20, 2026, in preparation for the preliminary hearing, Mr. Twiggs gave a recorded statement under oath and after an admonition that any false statement would be punishable by law and could be charged as obstruction of justice. Mr. Twiggs was also given use-immunity by the United States Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office — meaning that his statements at that April 20 meeting could not be used against him,” prosecutors said, according to the June 16 filing.

Twiggs claimed Robinson had communicated with him and others using electronic messages and allegedly told him that he had killed Kirk, according to the same filing. (RELATED: Accused Charlie Kirk Assassin Tyler Robinson Loses Latest Bid For Camera-Free Courtroom)
NewsNation’s Brian Entin also confirmed Twiggs had received limited immunity in a June 17 post he shared on X.
“Tyler Robinson’s lover Lance Twiggs given limited immunity in the Charlie Kirk assassination case. The ‘limited’ part is interesting — leaves options open for prosecutor,” Entin wrote.
A family friend reported Robinson as Kirk’s alleged assassin after the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder was shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said. The family friend said Robinson had “become more political in recent years” and recalled a conversation in which Robinson purportedly said he did not like Kirk.
Twiggs appeared to have vanished from his St. George, Utah home following Kirk’s assassination, according to the New York Post. Twiggs, who is transitioning from male to female, moved in with Robinson in 2018 after his devout Mormon parents kicked him out of their home.
Robinson appeared to smirk during his first in-person pre-trial hearing back in December 2025.
