Polish President Nawrocki Officially Strips Zelensky of Top Honor Over Kiev Regime’s Glorification of Nazi Collaborators and War Criminals (VIDEO)

Zelensky has burned his Warsaw ties.
We have been following here on TGP the fraying of the bilateral relations between Poland and Ukraine.
While Warsaw has proven itself one of the greatest supporters of the Kiev regime’s war effort, now the ties have soured over Volodymyr Zelensky’s constant glorifying of the WW2 Nazi collaborators and war criminals who slaughtered Poles.
Today (19), it arises that Poland’s new president Karol Nawrocki has stripped Zelensky of the country’s top honor over the outrage caused by his renaming an army unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), Nazi collaborators who massacred Poles in World War Two.

Reuters reported:
“President Karol Nawrocki’s decision looked likely to unleash a severe diplomatic crisis between the neighbors just days ahead of a conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction in the Polish city of Gdansk.
‘In light of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s consent to name one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Heroes of the UPA, I have decided to revoke the Order of the White Eagle from the President of Ukraine’, Nawrocki said in a statement.”

“A nation that loses its memory loses a part of its soul. A country that ceases to defend the truth about its history ceases to be a guardian of national respect. The historical truth is not and can never be a bargaining chip.
Memory of the victims is the moral duty of the Polish state. For the vast majority of the Polish society, the Ukrainian Uprising Army, UPA, remains, above all, the information responsible for the cruel crimes committed on the citizens of the Republic of Poland during World War II. The position of the Polish state in this list of military names referring to the UPA criminals has a meaning that goes far beyond the internal affairs of Ukraine.
Poland has repeatedly signaled to the Ukrainian side the special importance of this issue. We have conveyed our position and expectations of re-evaluating the consequences of this decision to the relations between our countries. Ultimately, the position of the Ukrainian side has not changed.
History should not be an obstacle to the future. However, a good future can only be built on the consent of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to name one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the heroes of the UPA. After consulting with the capital, I made a decision to withdraw the order of the White Eagle to the President of Ukraine.
At this point, I would like to emphasize that this decision is not against the Ukrainian people. It does not mean a strategic change in the direction of Polish security policy. We can remain indifferent to the affirmation of the symbol of crime.
We cannot allow the propagation of ideologies responsible for genocide. Just as we reject the symbols of German Nazism and Soviet Communism, we must reject the cult of the perpetrators of the Volyn crime. In the Polish public sphere, there is no place for the red-black Bander flag.
It is high time to legally sanction it. At the same time, there can be no permission to equate the UPA with the AK or the Unbreakable Soldiers. In contrast to the UPA, the main AK command warned against blind revenge, prohibiting the killing of women and children.
Those who spread such lies should be excluded from the public discussion. They harm Poland. Ladies and gentlemen, we cannot forget about our history.
We cannot abandon our memory. We cannot give up the dignity of our victims. This is how we understand the obligation to those who cannot speak in their own voice.
This is how we understand the meaning of the White Eagle Order. Poland lives when the nation remembers. Long live Poland!”
