REPEAT OFFENDER: Savannah Grand Jury Indicts 320-Pound Thug and Female Accomplice Who Stomped an Unconscious Man’s Head in Viral Downtown Attack — Judge Called It “Borderline Attempted Murder”

Two suspects accused of participating in a brutal attack on an unconscious man in downtown Savannah, Georgia, have been indicted on aggravated assault and battery charges.

Elijawan Wilson, 24, and Tania Phillips, 25, were indicted this week after disturbing video showed a man being kicked, stomped, and dragged near Ellis Square on June 18, according to WTOC.

Aggravated assault in Georgia carries one to 20 years if convicted.

This is the same Wilson who smirked for cameras after his arrest and announced, “Whoopty do… Y’all got a Mr. Fighter.”

Wilson, listed in court as 6-foot-3 and 320 pounds, keeps stomping and kicking the man’s head, neck, and face. The victim is already limp on the pavement.

Phillips is seen striking the victim and dragging him across the pavement. About six people stand around. Nobody stops it. A third suspect, Touray Williams Jr., is accused of going through the unconscious man’s pockets. A fourth person is still being sought.

Investigators say the victim walked out of a bar, does not remember the attack, and was taken to the hospital for CT scans, X-rays, and other imaging.

He had visible trauma to the head, face, and neck and complained of pain in his chest, back, and ribs. Sheriff Richard Coleman said the man was in “pretty bad shape.”

Local television originally described the injuries as serious but not life-threatening. Social media accounts and independent reporters identified the victim as a White man. Official local broadcasts largely left that detail out.

Wilson was previously denied bond after a judge described the alleged stomping as “borderline attempted murder” and said it “shocks the conscience.”

The court also noted that Wilson had previously received a 10-year probation sentence in an aggravated assault case under Georgia’s first-offender program.

WTOC reported he was arrested four separate times in 2020 for violent assaults, including aggravated assault domestic-violence strangulation in December of that year, plus multiple family-violence battery and assault cases.

He also spent time in Savannah’s Regional Youth Detention Center.

In 2021 he picked up another aggravated assault case and walked with a 10-year first-offender probation sentence. Then he was back on the street. Then he was on camera stomping a man who could not defend himself.
