Nikki Haley super PAC forecasts growth with Scott exit, predicts DeSantis dropout

Stand for America Fund, the super PAC supporting former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley’s 2024 presidential campaign, predicted additional upward momentum in a Tuesday memo, in which it also speculated when Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) would drop out of the race.

Following Sen. Tim Scott’s (R-SC) suspension of his presidential campaign on Sunday, SFA Fund revealed, “Our internal polling has consistently shown that Nikki would benefit the most from Tim Scott dropping out of the race for president,” noting that Scott supporters frequently preferred Haley as their second choice.

In the memo, the PAC’s lead strategist, Mark Harris, said Haley benefits the most from a narrowing Republican primary field. He explained that as more candidates drop out, time, money, and resources will be significantly tested — and he said Haley is the only candidate with sufficient amounts of each to “go the distance.”

This week, Haley’s campaign launched its first ad reservation, with $10 million in Iowa and New Hampshire for television, radio, and digital campaigns, which will run from December through the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary. In contrast, DeSantis’s campaign has secured just over $2 million in advertising between now and the caucuses in Iowa.

Harris further blasted DeSantis’s super PAC and campaign efficacy with their spending. Haley’s new television spending advantage over the Florida governor “means DeSantis will likely be dramatically out in the closing months of the campaign,” according to him.

The PAC also cast doubt on DeSantis’s standing in Iowa, where he is focusing nearly all of his campaign resources until the caucuses. Harris said the Florida governor is “barely ‘hanging on'” in the Hawkeye State while noting his relatively poor standing in New Hampshire and South Carolina as opposed to Haley. “We have to ask: How many more nails does DeSantis’ coffin need before he finally calls it quits?” he wrote.

Lastly, he reiterated the super PAC and Haley campaign’s argument for her nomination, saying she is the only candidate who can successfully take on not only former President Donald Trump but President Joe Biden as well.
