Nikki Haley claims Ramaswamy ‘might have a girl problem’ over criticizing her and Ronna McDaniel

2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley claimed Tuesday that one of her opponents “might have a girl problem” over recent criticisms he has made against her and Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican Party.

Haley was discussing the most recent Republican debate held in Miami, Florida, on Nov. 8, during which she feuded with fellow 2024 candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur. Ramaswamy, who had clashed with Haley at prior debates, went viral in the debate for criticizing McDaniel, asking her to resign from her position as chairwoman.

“And so actually was like, ‘You know what, I’m not going to engage, I’m not going to engage him,’ because we are not going to let this debate be about him,” Haley said on the Ruthless podcast. “But what happens? He comes out of the gate, he hits the female chair of the party, he hits the female anchor on the platform, and then he hits me. And I’m not saying anything, but he might have a girl problem. I’m just saying, he might have a girl problem.”

Tricia McLaughlin, Ramaswamy’s press secretary, issued a response to Haley’s statement on social media, telling her to “grow up.”

“Nothing says ‘girl power’ like ‘you can’t criticize me because I’m a woman,'” McLaughlin posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Grow up.”

Haley and Ramaswamy have feuded several times throughout the Republican Party’s 2024 primary race, primarily over the social media platform TikTok and security concerns over the platform. Haley criticized Ramaswamy in the last debate over his use of TikTok to promote his campaign, with Ramaswamy trying to point out that her daughter, Rena, has used TikTok in the past. Haley then asked Ramaswamy to leave her daughter out of the conversation, saying, “you’re just scum.”

Ramaswamy’s criticism of McDaniel stems from the Republican Party’s performance in recent elections, which have seen the party lose control of the White House in 2020, fail to properly take back Congress in 2022, and greatly underperform in 2023. On Wednesday, he launched a petition asking for McDaniel to resign.

“A week ago on the GOP Debate stage, I called on Ronna Romney McDaniel to resign,” Ramaswamy posted on X. “Now, I’m asking grassroots conservatives across the nation to join me so she can feel the power of the people. It’s time to stop the culture of surrender and losing. Resign, Ronna.”

I am sick & tired of this Republican Establishment that has made us a party of losers. Where is the accountability for years of losing: 2018, 2020, 2022 and now 2023? A week ago on the GOP Debate stage, I called on Ronna Romney McDaniel to resign. Now, I’m asking grassroots…

Ramaswamy has also criticized a recent statement Haley made regarding the verification of social media users, in which Haley called for social media platforms to verify users by their names. The call by Haley was described by Ramaswamy as “a flagrant violation of the Constitution and straight out of the Democrats’ playbook.”
