Voters want Trump-Haley vs. Biden-anybody but Harris

America’s voters are already looking past the primaries and conventions and are sizing up who they’d like the running mates of President Joe Biden and Donald Trump to be.
And if likely voters get their way, the contest would see a Trump-Nikki Haley ticket challenging Biden and any Democrat other than current Vice President Kamala Harris.
In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets Monday, a Trump-Haley ticket won the largest percentage of all likely voters — Republicans, Democrats, independents — at 16%, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 12%, Chris Christie at 11% and Vivek Ramaswamy at 10%.
For Biden, 45% said “it would be better if Biden chooses someone else as his vice presidential running mate.” Just 41% said they wanted him to pair with Harris again.
Of course it’s typically up to the nominee’s party to influence the pick of vice president and adding that to the equation results in a different outcome.
Democrats, for example, support the Biden-Harris ticket. Some 57% said that he should stick with the unpopular vice president versus 31% who want an alternative.
On the Trump side, 23% of Republican chose DeSantis followed by 18% for Haley, 13% for Ramaswamy and 12% for Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake.
In the survey, just 5% of Republicans and only 4% of self-described conservatives chose Christie, the pick of liberals. “If Democratic voters were picking Trump’s 2024 running mate, the leaders would be Christie (16%) and Haley (15%),” said the poll analysis.
