Impeaching Biden would be ‘political disaster’ for Republicans: Mike Huckabee

Former Republican Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Monday that it would be a “huge mistake” for Republicans to impeach President Joe Biden.

Huckabee appeared on the Real America’s Voice show Just the News, No Noise and defended the process of an impeachment inquiry into the president, which former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) opened in September, but he slammed the idea of spending time on a no-hope trial in the Senate.

“To impeach Joe Biden in the House, knowing it’s not going to go to the Senate — there’s no point,” Huckabee said. “All it becomes is a political disaster.”

The former governor went on to clarify that he thinks House Republicans should continue the impeachment inquiry to “get the information and develop the case.” However, he said it will take Democratic support of the notion that Biden is “hopelessly corrupt” for the proceedings to lead anywhere.

“Until that happens, the best thing Republicans can do is keep dribbling out the information of Joe’s ties to the Communist Chinese Party and business deals,” Huckabee said.

Huckabee also bashed the Republican National Committee during the interview, pointing to a lack of vision and message he said was present when he was in office.

“The RNC became a very important part of winning elections,” Huckabee said. “I’m not seeing that right now. It seems like that we raise money, but we don’t raise that much. But we don’t have a message. There’s not a clear, concise, and cohesive message that Republicans can rally around and one that the American people will embrace and say, ‘You know what, that’s what I believe. I’m going to support that.’”
