Legendary actor Bruce Willis is suffering from frontotemporal dementia, and his family has grown “closer together” in supporting him through his illness as they prepare for the Christmas season.

“No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they’re soaking up every moment they get with him. [Everything] revolves around him. Bruce has around-the-clock care, but at least one family member is always with him,” sources close to the family said.

His wife Emma, ex-wife Demi Moore, and daughters Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn have been sharing this holiday season together.

The 68-year-old actor has been going through a form of dementia that generally progresses more rapidly than Alzheimer’s disease and gradually damages the brain’s frontal and temporal lobes, which leads to problems with behavior, trouble communicating, and difficulty with walking.

People with his condition typically live six to eight years, but others live less than two years after they are diagnosed.

“Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there are many more bad days than good. This experience has brought the whole family even closer together,” sources close to the Willis family reportedly said.

In June, his daughter Scout posted an Instagram picture with her father.

“I feel so lucky to know the kind of tenderness that this man shares, the deep admiration, respect and reverence he has for his family. I feel so lucky that this incredible, vibrant, man is my father,” she wrote on Instagram.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, his wife Emma shared a family photo with Willis.

“I’m grateful and thankful to know this kind of love,” she said.
