“Our CBP officers’ continued vigilance in protecting the border achieves daily results,” CBP El Paso Director Field Operations Hector A. Mancha said.

“CBP officers remain dedicated to disrupting the flow of dangerous narcotics and weapons from entering our country and reaching our communities.”

At least 67 pounds of cocaine, 89 pounds of methamphetamine, and multiple firearms have been captured by CBP since the month started, according to a CBP news release on Thursday.

Beginning on Dec. 2, CBP officials captured 26 pounds of cocaine that had been bundled and attempted to be smuggled by a Canadian national.

Then, just hours later, at the Port of Presidio, 25 pounds of cocaine was discovered when a 25-year-old Mexican national attempted to cross the border with the drugs stashed in the center console of his pickup truck, the report noted.
