Kanye West accused of wearing KKK-style hood at listening party for new album

Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, has been accused of wearing a hood with a similar appearance to those worn by Ku Klux Klan members at a recent listening party for his next album.

West was wearing a pointed black hood with eye slits at the front, drawing comparisons to the hoods worn by KKK members. His choice to wear the hood comes after he made various antisemitic statements in 2022, which resulted in his account on X, then known as Twitter, being suspended and the ending of different business deals he had.

The party West was attending was for his new album, Vultures, which was produced with fellow musical artist Ty Dolla Sign and is set to be released on Friday. Other celebrities attending West’s listening party were Chris Brown, Offset, Kodak Black, Lil Durk, Bump J, and Freddie Gibbs. West’s daughter North was also in attendance.

The antisemitic comments he started to make in October 2022 cost him a partnership he made with Adidas.

Later that year, West stated in an Infowars interview that people should “stop dissing the Nazis” so much and that there are “good things” about Adolf Hitler. West also said he loves both Jews and Nazis, prompting host Alex Jones to disagree.

West’s X account was suspended shortly after he posted an image of a swastika inside a Star of David. The decision to suspend West’s account was made by X owner Elon Musk, who said the rapper “violated our rule against incitement to violence.”
