A New York family is getting pushback for displaying over 720,000 Christmas lights on their home and property.

Some neighbors are tired of the bright lights blasting into their homes and the car lines winding through their neighborhood to see the display.

The Guinness World Records record for most lights on a residential property went to Tim Gay of Union Vale, New York, when the family displayed 346,283 Christmas lights in 2012. The family has continually upped their favorite tradition of Christmas lights displays each year.

Neighbor Edward Kasche said he will run for local office because he’s had enough of the lights display’s massive display.

Other neighbors are tired of the trash and alcohol bottles added to the neighborhood this time of year.

The town supervisor, Betsy Maas, has no plans to rein in the display.

“Are you going to be the one to get rid of Santa?” she said.
