Critics slam Miss France for going ‘woke’ after crowning short-haired winner

Critics are calling out the Miss France beauty pageant for allegedly going “woke” following the crowning of a contestant deemed androgynous on Sunday.

Nearly 7.5 million viewers watched as short-haired Eve Gilles, a 20-year-old from Nord-Pas-de-Calais, was crowned the winner by prior winner Indira Ampiot, according to a report.

Controversy stems from Gilles’s hair, as she is the first winner of the pageant not to have long hair in the 103 years the competition has been running.

The choice to crown the pixie cut-donning contestant was the product of half a public vote and half a jury vote, the report noted.

While she finished third in the public vote, Gilles finished first due to the judges, and not everyone on social media welcomed their decision.

“In a stunning turn of events the newly crowned Miss France has short hair!?!” one user posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

“It’s the woke ideology trying to force masculine looking women upon us or words to that effect. Can society get more ridiculous,” they added.

“Miss France is no longer a beauty contest but a woke contest which is based on inclusiveness,” another user reportedly said.

“Here is your Miss France,” one post declared. “It was of course wokes who organized the attack. No breasts, no hips, no hair… She looks like a thirteen year old girl. Ashamed!”
