Tiana Lowe Doescher predicts Biden has a 33% chance of dying in second term of office

The chances of President Joe Biden dying while serving a potential second term of office increase more as the president gets older, the Washington Examiner’s Tiana Lowe Doescher noted Wednesday.

Doescher’s comment comes after the president celebrated his 81st birthday last month, along with a recent report stating that first lady Jill Biden is actively involved with her husband’s diet and sleep schedule. Doescher, a commentary writer for the Washington Examiner, said that concerns about the president getting enough rest is “the last thing in America anybody is concerned about,” noting that the president is typically late to issue public responses to worldwide events.

“Look, Social Security actuarial tables determine the average risk of death per age,” Doescher said on Mornings with Maria on Fox Business. “At 81 for a Caucasian male, it’s a 7% risk of dying. By the time you’re at 86, it’s an 11% risk. When you add it all up cumulatively, this means that Joe Biden has about a 1 in 3 chance of dying at some point during his second term in office, and that’s assuming the average Caucasian male, not someone like him, who’s had brain issues in the past.”

Doescher also said that Biden’s staff has requested for the stairs on Air Force One to be shortened and for the president to wear shoes with stronger grips to lower the risk of Biden falling down, which has happened several times throughout Biden’s presidency. The president himself has joked about it, saying last month that it “wasn’t me” when a loud thud was heard during a speech he was giving.

Biden’s age has been seen as a detriment to many voters, with Rasmussen Reports finding that 72% of likely voters believe Biden’s age is a serious problem for his 2024 reelection chances. Should Biden win in 2024, he would be 86 by the time he leaves the White House in January 2029.

Multiple celebrities have also weighed in on the issue, with sports journalist Stephen A. Smith saying last month that the U.S. needs “a new president” and that “there’s no way around” Biden getting older. Likewise, radio host Charlamagne tha God cited Biden’s age and approval rating among voters as negative factors to Biden’s reelection, joking that Biden not seeking reelection would be “the ultimate Christmas gift” for voters.

Former President Donald Trump, who turned 77 years old earlier this year, is seeking the White House again in 2024 and is currently leading the Republican Party’s primary race for the presidential candidacy. However, a recent ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court determining that Trump is ineligible to be president under the 14th Amendment could be a barrier in Trump’s path to retake the White House if he is the Republican Party’s nominee.
