Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson held a Christmas event through his foundation, allowing almost 300 children to have some holiday fun.

The event, Christmas Around the World, was held at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown through his Deshaun Watson Foundation and gave children a chance to spend time together doing Christmas activities. They were also able to sample various different foods from throughout the world.

“I mean, it’s amazing,” Watson said. “It’s a great opportunity for me to be able to just give back to all these kids that I met earlier this year through football or through a church, through youth football league, and then through a church service that I attended back at Shallow earlier this year. But just being able to build relationships, build throughout the community, and just give back. This is a perfect opportunity.”

Other activities held during the event included playing basketball, video games, face paintings, and an appearance by Santa Claus. The children also got to take photos at several photo-designated areas, with Watson stopping for photos and autographs himself.

When the event was over, the children were also given multiple presents to take home with them.

“He [Watson] signed photos, it was really fun,” said Heaven Foster, one of the children in attendance. “I just love it.”

Watson himself is recovering from a recent surgery he underwent in Los Angeles, and said he was glad to be back in Cleveland. In the future, he plans to support the iconic Ohio city through other events like Christmas Around the World.
