A Texas father and son were arrested Wednesday night in the killings of pregnant teenager Savanah Soto and her boyfriend Matthew Guerra.

Eight days since the bodies of Soto, 18, and Guerra, 22, were found in a vehicle in San Antonio, police arrested the only two suspects in the case — Christopher Preciado, 19, and his father, Ramon Preciado, 53.

The younger Preciado is facing a capital murder charge, and his father is facing an abuse of a corpse charge, according to police.

“There was a lot of misinformation out there,” Washington Moscoso of the San Antonio Police Department said of information circulating online. “These two individuals are the only suspects we were looking for.

“There were many names being thrown around on the internet,” Moscoso said at a press conference. “Those people had nothing to do with this.”

Soto and Guerra disappeared before Christmas, and Soto’s family reported her missing when she missed a hospital appointment to have her labor induced. Soto and Guerra were found dead in a parking lot in San Antonio. Their bodies were inside a Kia Optima belonging to Guerra, and Soto’s unborn child was also deceased.

The Bexar County medical examiner confirmed Soto’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head, and Guerra’s cause of death was a contact gunshot wound to the head.

Last week, the San Antonio Police Department released video footage of two people of interest in the shooting case, with one person seen driving a Chevrolet Silverado and another driving a silver Kia Optima that belonged to Guerra.

Police used information on Soto’s cellphone left in the car to track down another vehicle seen on surveillance video, leading officers to the vehicle owner’s home. Moscoso said Ramon Preciado answered the door and cooperated with the investigation, telling reporters “there was enough information to get a warrant signed by a judge” Wednesday evening.
