Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump levied new attacks against one of his strongest challengers during a rally in Iowa on Friday night, dubbing Nikki Haley a “globalist” and using her foreign policy credentials against her.

In her campaign, Haley has touted her foreign policy experience as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and her leadership background as a former governor of South Carolina.

“Nikki Haley’s campaign is being funded by Biden donors,” Trump said in his speech. “She likes the globe. I like America first. The establishment losers and sellouts lagging far behind us in the Republican primary can’t be trusted on taxes or trade or anything else. They’re globalists, and they always will be.”

Haley has also been tough on China, especially when it comes to the fentanyl crisis, and was known as the “Iran Whisperer” in the Trump administration after she pushed the U.S. to leave the Iran deal.

The former president also criticized Haley’s response to a question about the Civil War last week, claiming the former South Carolina governor “does not have what it takes” to be president. Another moment, where Haley claimed New Hampshire would “correct” Iowa’s vote, also landed the candidate in hot water.

Haley, who has strong support among independents, has focused her campaign on finishing in the top two in New Hampshire and South Carolina and is hoping for a strong showing in the Iowa caucuses.

Trump’s comments come as Haley continues to climb in the Republican primaries. She is in second place behind the former president in New Hampshire and polling third in Iowa. She also polls second in her home state of South Carolina.

Haley and rival Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) hope to garner enough support to be the alternative candidate to Trump. DeSantis is polling second in Iowa, behind Trump.

“If Trump feels so strongly about his false attacks, he should stop hiding and defend them on the debate stage in Des Moines,” Haley campaign spokeswoman Nachama Soloveichik told the New York Times. “[Trump] probably doesn’t remember that Nikki Haley passed one of the toughest anti-illegal immigration laws in the country in 2011, because he was still a New York City liberal.”
