Stimulus update: Direct payment worth $1,312 to be sent to some Alaska residents in 14 days – Washington Examiner

Checks from the Permanent Fund Dividend are set to be sent out to another swath of residents who have yet to receive their payments from the Alaska Department of Revenue in two weeks.

Eligible residents in Alaska with the “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of Wednesday who have yet to get their PFD payments for 2023 or earlier will get their payments on March 21.

To be eligible for the program, an applicant must intend to remain an Alaska resident indefinitely and may not be a convicted felon, among other requirements to qualify.

The Permanent Fund Dividend sets its payment amounts on the state’s annual mineral revenues for that year, with payments being sent to eligible residents each year. The 2023 PFD check was worth $1,312, and distribution began in October.

“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the 2023 payment. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.

“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” Crum added. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
