Tim Scott responds to ‘ridiculous’ attacks from The View hosts

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) stood firm on his claim that America is not a racist country despite renewed attacks from hosts of The View.

Scott appeared on Hannity on Thursday to react to a recent segment on The View criticizing him for his defense of America and former President Donald Trump, whom he has endorsed. During the talk show, host Sunny Hostin said that when Scott said America is not a racist country, she was “offended.” Fellow host Whoopi Goldberg called him a “loony tune.” Host Joy Behar said it was “horrible to watch” Scott campaign for Trump, which she referred to as “groveling.”

“How ridiculous,” Scott responded to the segment. “Bottom line is simply this: I hope every lady watching The View and on The View can hear me loud and clear. America is not a racist country.”

“No. 2, their vicious, disgusting attacks are not designed just for me. It is designed to silence every voice from hardworking Americans,” Scott continued. “The fact that more African Americans are now looking to vote for Donald Trump and join the GOP, it is scaring them completely.”

Scott cited the record-breaking number of immigrants crossing the border under President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, according to Scott, Trump’s term saw low unemployment among minorities and record-high funding for historically black colleges and universities.

During his appearance on The View last year, Scott was then the first 2024 Republican candidate interviewed by the hosts and condemned commentary on race during his appearance. Behar was not present in the studio that day. Scott has since dropped out of the race.
