Brian Mast silences protester with single line on terrorists in viral video – Washington Examiner

Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) shut down a small group of protesters in the Capitol by making his stance on Hamas terrorists crystal clear.

Demonstrators with left-wing feminist antiwar organization Code Pink met Mast walking through the halls of the Capitol. They confronted him for his stance against a ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. One of these protesters had spoken to Mast before on the issue.

“Do you know where we stand with terrorists?” Mast asked the protesters in an exchange captured on camera. “We stand on their throats.”

After a moment of shocked silence, one protester responded, “Oh my God. You’re a monster.”

Mast is a veteran who is now a dozen years removed from having lost both of his legs while serving in Afghanistan. He also served for the Israel Defense Forces and has donned his IDF uniform while in legislative session.

It has been over 150 days since Hamas launched its most recent attack on Israel, where operatives took 250 hostages and killed 1,200 people. The resulting conflict has led to the deaths of over 30,000 people in Gaza, per the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry, though that total does not differentiate between civilians and combatants.

During a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas last year in which hostages were exchanged, Hamas abruptly ended the agreed-upon pause early by launching missiles at Israel. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that Israel has agreed to a six-week ceasefire but Hamas has so far refused.
