The fall presidential election is Donald Trump’s to lose.
A day after winning enough delegates to secure the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, the former president has taken the lead in several polls and expanded his winning gap over all the leading Democrats.
What’s more, voters appear to be warming to his return while further rejecting President Joe Biden.
A new Suffolk/USA Today survey showed that voters approved of Trump’s presidency more than they do of Biden’s. Just 41% approve of the job Biden is doing, while 49% approve of the way Trump handled his job in the Oval Office.
Then there is the first survey of how voters viewed Biden’s State of the Union address, which the media called “feisty,” “energetic,” and the best ever given. A Yahoo News/YouGov found that voters didn’t buy the media’s hype and were not sold on Biden’s sudden, though short-lived, energetic performance.
The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets showed a growing lead for Trump over Biden and two of the potential Democratic alternatives, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and former first lady Michelle Obama.
Rasmussen revealed that Trump’s lead over Biden has increased by two points in a month and is now 49% to 41%. Biden has been stuck at 41% in the poll for a second month.
Trump is also leading Newsom by 17 points, 51% to 34%.
And he is up over Obama by seven points, 50% to 43%, said Rasmussen.
Both Newsom and Obama have publicly said they aren’t running, though some party officials are still urging them to keep an open mind as more Democrats question if Biden can win.

In the survey, Obama’s numbers showing support among Democrats — and opposition by Republicans — were nearly identical to the president’s. Her edge over Biden was among black voters.
Notably, and importantly, Trump leads Biden, Newsom, and Obama among independent voters, seen as the key to winning it all in November. Versus Biden, Trump leads with independents 45%-33%. Versus Newsom he leads 49%-30%, and when pitted against Obama, it’s Trump 48%-40%.
