White House Report Card: Biden reelection stuck in neutral, approval at ‘fail’ – Washington Examiner

This week’s White House Report Card shows President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign marching in place, his approval rating stalled at “fail” while inflation festers, the border stuck open to a stream of illegal migrants, and the humanitarian crisis in Haiti unaddressed.

It should have been an eventful week for Biden, mostly because he unveiled his budget. But the $7.3 trillion package was more of the same only with added spending and taxes.

At home, House leaders moved closer to holding impeachment hearings over alleged Biden family corruption. Overseas, Biden’s fight with Israel grew while his administration did little to help Americans out of gang-savaged Haiti.

Do you think things in this country are better today with Biden as president or were better back when Trump was president?

Biden 39%

Conservative grader Jed Babbin handed out an “F.” He panned the president’s fattened budget and blinders on the border.

Democratic pollster John Zogby graded the week a “C-plus,” calling it another with Biden stuck at low approval ratings.

This is a “B” week for President Joe Biden, not that he has earned that grade or anything close to it. The “B’s” are the new $7.3 trillion budget, inflation is roaring back, and telling Americans begging for rescue from the mess in Haiti to “be safe.”

Biden’s budget — at $7.3 trillion — is a concatenation of inflationary spending that ignores defense needs and adds more “climate change” nonsense, all paid for (supposedly) by about $5 trillion in new taxes that only “the rich” will face. It’s Bidenomics in its purest form, payouts with no revenue stream to pay for it.

Inflation is roaring back. Gasoline prices are — again — headed to $4/gallon, and the price of rent, groceries, and so much else are going up faster than people can afford. Bidenomics just doesn’t work.

Biden despite the crime wave that killed Laken Riley and others and robbed hundreds of thousands of businesses and people absolutely refuses to do anything to control illegal immigration. Just as bad, as one general told Congress this week, are the thousands of drone incursions coming across our southern border each month. Air Force Gen. Greg Guillot, commander of NORAD, also said he was very worried about Chinese coming across Biden’s open border. Biden’s attitude toward the border is, “What, me worry?”

Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said there was an unprecedented level of corruption that investigators had uncovered so far in the Biden impeachment inquiry. This goes hand-in-glove with the testimony of special counsel Robert Hur this week, who insisted that he didn’t exonerate Biden in the classified documents case against the president. Hur just determined that he couldn’t make criminal charges stick because Biden had such a poor memory.

If he’s mentally incapable of standing trial, how is Biden mentally capable of running the country?

And, finally, we’ve managed to pull our diplomats — but not our citizens — out of Haiti which, at the moment, doesn’t have a government. It’s a failed state. Biden’s White House told American missionaries there to “be safe” but won’t evacuate them. Sounds like Afghanistan redux.

Grade: C+

Inflation edged slightly up the past month, at a 3.2% annualized rate, still unwelcome news for President Joe Biden and consumers.

The newly energized president hit the road with a message of real projects for communities, while Vice President Kamala Harris made an historic first visit to an abortion clinic, emphasizing a key issue for Democrats in the fall.

But Biden’s approval rating barely moved. He is still at 40% approval. The national polls continue to show a close race between him and former President Donald Trump, whether in a two-way or five-way race. And, only one in four feel that the country is headed in the right direction. I could possibly copy this report card so I can paste it another time when I need to.
