Suspect On Run After 3 Killed In Major-City Suburb

Several people were shot and killed in a Pennsylvania suburb on Saturday, prompting authorities to issue a shelter-in-place order for residents, according to several reports.

Three people were reportedly shot and killed in Falls Township, a community located about 30 minutes away from Philadelphia by car, according to local outlet FOX 29. Authorities have identified a suspect, 26-year-old Andre Gordon, and it is unclear if he has been apprehended.

The shelter-in-place order has been lifted, an official for the Middletown Township Police Department told the Daily Caller News Foundation. The official declined to comment further about whether the order’s lift means a suspect or suspects have been captured. Officers first responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the township sometime before nine o’clock Saturday morning, according to FOX 29. Law enforcement personnel allege that Gordon shot and killed two people at that property, before fleeing in a stolen vehicle to another property in the area and killing a third person at that location.

Gordon then allegedly stole a car at gunpoint in the parking lot of a nearby Dollar General store, stealing the car but leaving its owner unharmed, according to FOX29. Gordon was last seen operating the stolen car, and sources have told FOX 29 that the stolen vehicle was located in Trenton, New Jersey, a city to which Gordon is apparently connected.

The shooting and subsequent shelter-in-place order prompted the cancellation of a local St. Patrick’s Day parade and the closure of a theme park meant to be enjoyed by children, according to The Associated Press.
