Trump promotes $59.99 ‘God Bless the USA’ Bible inspired by Lee Greenwood song – Washington Examiner

Former President Donald Trump is promoting the “God Bless the USA” Bible as Holy Week is celebrated throughout the world.

The special edition Bible, which retails for $59.99, is inspired by singer Lee Greenwood’s 1984 hit “God Bless the USA” — which is blasted at Trump’s campaign stops — according to its website. It is a King James version of the holy text and includes the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

“I want to have a lot of people have it,” Trump said in a promotional video. “You have to have it for your heart, for your soul.”

“All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many,” Trump said in the clip. “It’s my favorite book. It’s a lot of people’s favorite book. This Bible is a reminder that the biggest thing we have to bring back to make America great again is our religion.”

God Bless the USA’s website states it is “not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign” and is “not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates.”

“GodBlessTheUSABible.com uses Donald J. Trump’s name, likeness and image under paid license from CIC Ventures LLC, which license may be terminated or revoked according to its terms,” the website states.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Trump’s campaign for comment.

Trump has promoted other Trump-branded ventures, including a new line of sneakers last month and a series of digital trading cards with his likeness last year.

The spot with God Bless the USA comes as the Left is warning that Trump seeks to implement “Christian nationalism” into his administration, a term that social conservatives counter is meant to marginalize people who believe in the role of religion, or Judeo-Christian values, in everyday life.

Trump said in his video that religion is under attack but will make a comeback in the United States.

“In the end, we do not answer to bureaucrats in Washington. We answer to God and heaven,” he said. “Christians are under siege. We must protect content that is pro-God. We love God, and we have to protect anything that is pro-God.”

The spot ends with a call to “stand up, speak out, and pray that God will bless America again.”

“We must make America pray again,” Trump said. “Pray, get educated, get motivated, and stand with me and the legions of Americans asking God to bless our great nation to bring our great nation back.”

Trump’s promotion of the special edition of the Bible comes one day after a New York appeals court slashed the $454 million bond he owed in the civil fraud case against him to $175 million, giving him 10 days to pay it.
