Jill Biden announces education theme for White House Easter Egg Roll – Washington Examiner

First lady Jill Biden is hoping this year’s Easter Egg Roll will be all it’s cracked up to be, announcing her 2024 theme is once again “EGGucation.”

The White House will hold its annual Easter Egg Roll, a tradition that started in 1878, next Monday, transforming the South Lawn and Ellipse into a school community, drawing inspiration from Biden’s 30-year teaching career.

“In addition to the time-honored traditions of rolling and hunting eggs, this year’s White House
Easter ‘EGGucation’ Roll will also feature a school house activity area, reading nook, ‘field trip to the farm,’ ‘picture day,’ a physical ‘EGGucation’ zone, a snack time tent, and more,” the East Wing told reporters Wednesday.

Sesame Street actor Alan Muraoka is expected to read with Elmo as characters from Baby Shark to Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and Warner Brothers’ Wonder Woman, roam the White House grounds.

“The South Facade of the White House will be adorned with balloons, marked with STEAM
school subjects, a nod to Dr. Biden’s belief that with EGGucation, ‘all students can soar,’” the East Wing said.

About 40,000 people are anticipated to take part in this year’s Easter Egg Roll, with the American Egg Board, on behalf of America’s Egg Farmers, continuing its more than 45-year support of the event by presenting Biden with a commemorative Easter egg.

The first lady will also “feature eggs designed by military-connected children of National Guard families from communities across the country,” the East Wing added, “as a part of her Joining Forces initiative to support military and veteran families.”
