Former President Donald Trump responded to famed actor Robert De Niro’s press conference outside his New York hush money trial, calling him a “wacko” in a Truth Social post on Wednesday.
“I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was. Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA,” the Republican front-runner for the presidency posted early Wednesday morning.
He added, “Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there. Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio!!!”
The post is in response to the Biden campaign’s recruitment of the popular actor to hold a press conference outside Trump’s hush money trial Manhattan courthouse. The Biden campaign surrogate used Tuesday’s press conference to debate the merits of another Trump term, called the 45th president a “clown” and a “tyrant,” and verbally sparred with pro-Trump demonstrators, saying they were “kinda crazy.”
The actor questioned whether the country can survive another four years of Trump, saying America’s democratic government “will perish from the earth” if the former president is reelected in November.
De Niro added a dire warning, saying Trump “wants to sow total chaos. … Donald Trump wants to destroy not only this city but the country, and eventually, he could destroy the world.”
The celebrity also referenced the TV ad he narrated for the Biden campaign, saying he “wanted to be involved in the new Biden-Harris ad because it shows the violence of Trump and reminds us that he’ll use violence against anyone who stands against his megalomania and greed.”
De Niro has come under fire for being the Biden campaign’s mouthpiece against Trump as he continues to make thinly veiled comparisons between Trump and Adolf Hitler.

On Tuesday, progressive TV personality Mika Brzezinski questioned De Niro’s involvement in the court proceedings on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
“Last week, when the members of Congress showed up to support Donald Trump, I called it unbecoming of the office, of their serving the people of their district, American citizens. They’re not supposed to politicize a court proceeding. I’m just, I feel the same way about the campaign. Is there any concern about the campaign getting a little bit too close to these court proceedings, and could that backfire?” Brezeniski asked Michael Tyler, a Biden campaign spokesman.
