Fetterman, wife involved in Maryland car crash – Washington Examiner

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and his wife, Gisele Barreto Fetterman, were involved in a Sunday morning car crash along a Maryland highway near the Pennsylvania border, the senator’s office revealed Monday.

Fetterman, 54, was evaluated at a hospital for a bruised shoulder and was discharged Sunday with no additional injuries before returning to Braddock, Pennsylvania. He plans to return to Washington, D.C., Tuesday afternoon for Senate votes, a Fetterman spokesperson told the Washington Examiner.

The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. Sunday in northwest Maryland on Interstate 70 near Interstate 68 in Hancock while heading toward Pennsylvania. Fetterman, who was driving a Chevrolet Traverse, rear-ended a Chevrolet Impala, according to Maryland State Police.

“On Sunday morning, John and Gisele were involved in a car accident with another driver,” the spokesperson said. “Out of an abundance of caution, they were evaluated at a local hospital. John was treated for a bruised shoulder, and they were discharged that afternoon. They are doing well and happy to be back in Braddock.”
