Aaron Rodgers briefly returns to The Pat McAfee Show a day after host announced his departure

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a surprise return to The Pat McAfee Show only a day after the show’s host had announced he would not return for some time.

Rodgers appeared on the show to discuss the recently announced departures of coaches Bill Belichick and Nick Saban from their respective football teams, the New England Patriots and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Jets player, who said he was “in the woods” in his virtual appearance, only appeared on the show for about five minutes.

Notably, Rodgers did not discuss any topics in his appearance besides football, contrary to his past appearances on the show.

On Wednesday, Pat McAfee, the host of The Pat McAfee Show, announced that Rodgers would not appear on his show for the remainder of the NFL season. McAfee’s announcement came a week after Rodgers made a joke about late-night host Jimmy Kimmel being worried about the release of Jeffrey Epstein’s list of clients.

Kimmel threatened legal action against Rodgers over the joke the football star made. On Monday, the late-night host joked on his show that Rodgers was simply mad at Kimmel over previous jokes he had made against the Jets player, including his questioning of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Rodgers clarified his joke on Tuesday, explaining that he had not accused Kimmel of being a client of Epstein and that he was glad that Kimmel was not on the list. He added that he is “not stupid enough” to accuse someone of a serious accusation without evidence.
