Special ops buildup?

As President Donald J. Trump has said, the US has deployed ‘the greatest armada ever seen’ in Latin America to fight drug trafficking and effectively topple Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.

But new military assets are still being added to the formidable force.

Yesterday (24), we learned that the US military ‘has moved a large number of special-operations aircraft, troops and equipment into the Caribbean’.

The new arrivals up the pressure, as Trump decides if he will undertake military action to depose Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.

The New York Post reported:

“At least 10 CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft, used by special-operations forces, arrived in the region Monday night from Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico, an official told the Wall Street Journal.

A US Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft landing on the USS Iwo Jima amphibious assault ship, guided by a sailor, while another Osprey is parked on the deck.”

“C-17 cargo aircraft from the Fort Stewart and Fort Campbell Army bases also landed in Puerto Rico the same day, according to flight tracking data reviewed by the paper.

Military personnel and equipment were also transported on planes, a different US official said, although it remains unclear exactly what kind of troops were moved.”
