Having a pool without an enclosure in Florida makes no sense to me, and here’s an example as to why.
An alligator‘s time in a pool came to a screeching halt after a Florida deputy in St. Augustine used only his hands and a net to get out the dinosaur relative.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office recently released body cam footage that shows the gator‘s pool party ending early after the police officer removed the reptile during the backyard scene July 25. Deputy Richardson was seen on video with a net trying to reel in the alligator before he ultimately dropped it to grab the animal by its neck to pull it on the pool deck.
A woman was heard on the footage saying to the officer, “obviously, you grew up here,” with the cop laughing in response and replying, “yeah.”
After he got the gator under control, Deputy Richardson then took it to his patrol vehicle and relocated it to a pond that was nearby. He even buckled it in for extra safety.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Florida has the best cops.
I mean, seriously, name police officers in another state who would just grab an alligator by the neck like that with no problem. Maybe Louisiana, maybe Texas, but even then, I don’t think anybody is matching the intensity of an officer in the Sunshine State.
Love my police!
