Almost half of voters reported in a new poll that they believed President Joe Biden broke the law in some way regarding his son Hunter Biden.
The recent Yahoo News-YouGov survey showed that 48% of its 1,636 respondents thought the president did something “illegal regarding Hunter Biden.” When accounting for political party, 54% of independents said Joe Biden “definitely” or “probably” broke the law, while 85% of Republicans said the same.

Hunter Biden fared even worse, as 67% reported he likely did something illegal. This comes as 53% claimed they have paid either a lot or some attention to the ongoing investigation into the president’s son.
Another 46% said the House earned their approval by launching an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden, while 32% disapproved, and 22% weren’t sure. Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced an inquiry against Joe Biden last week before calling a vote, similar to how then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) did in 2019 when impeaching then-President Donald Trump.
The poll also found that 39% of its respondents suspected that Joe Biden had committed some sort of “serious crime” sometime in his life. Similarly, 47% reported that they believed Joe Biden and his family were corrupt. On the other hand, 51% reported Trump and his family were also corrupt. When asked to compare the two families, 41% of respondents claimed the Trumps were more corrupt than the Bidens, while 36% said the Bidens were more corrupt, and 13% said the two were equally corrupt.

Hunter Biden has been indicted with three firearm charges. He is alleged to have lied on his application to purchase a Colt Cobra in 2018. Since the crime happened sometime in October of that year, the charges came just a month before the statute of limitations expired.
The poll’s data were collected Sept. 14-18, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points.
