Is there anyone who so singularly embodies the Democrat Party as former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre?
She’s recently refashioned herself as a reasonable independent – but a change of title won’t be enough to erase her very public, very regrettable record. Let’s rewind the tape.
First, and not to be buried amid theatrics, there was Jean-Pierre’s constant and blatant lying. On at least four occasions since July 2023, Jean-Pierre guaranteed the public that then-President Joe Biden would not pardon his son.
“It’s still a no. It’s still a no. It will be a no. It is a no. And I don’t have anything else to add. Will he pardon his son? No,” she told reporters.
“Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter,” Joe Biden wrote in a statement on December 1, 2024.

Whoops! But the truth always did give Jean-Pierre trouble. She repeatedly proffered creative excuses for Biden’s obvious cognitive decline. Just look at her explain away the former president’s catastrophic debate performance.
“There’s a cold, there’s a jetlag, you combine that, he continues to work for the American people around the clock,” Jean-Pierre said following the 2024 debate between Biden and then presidential candidate Donald Trump. Many of us have had colds. Jet lag, too. It usually doesn’t result in indecipherable stammering worthy of a dementia patient. But be sure to ask your doctor.
Then, there was the time Jean-Pierre danced like she just didn’t care – a telling response as Americans continued to wonder, “Who is actually running our country?” An aside: What is it with Democrats and bumbling dance videos? Surely, this must appeal to a vanishingly small percentage of the electorate. (RELATED: House Dems Post Peak Cringe Video Imagining Congresswomen As Video Game Characters)
On the other hand, Jean-Pierre didn’t shy away from elitism. Only the best and brightest (and properly obsequious) reporters could expect to enjoy regular responses in the White House briefing room. The Daily Caller’s own White House correspondent, Reagan Reese, was called on a measly two times by Jean-Pierre, and a third time to ask a question of former White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby. Some weren’t deemed worthy of entrance at all. Biden’s White House culled the number of reporters with permanent White House credentials by 442 in 2023, according to Daily Signal Executive Editor Rob Bluey.
It seems Democrats couldn’t stand Jean-Pierre either. Immediately after Jean-Pierre abandoned ship, her former colleagues leapt at the chance to tell the world what they knew all along: this woman was in way, way over her head.
“The real problem with Karine Jean-Pierre was that she was kinda dumb,” former White House economic advisor Tim Wu wrote in a now deleted X post. “No interest in understanding harder topics. Just gave random incoherent answers on policy.”

Another user questioned Wu: “This is pretty racist?”
“The [White House] was full of genius-level black women. She was not one of them,” Wu responded.
The contention that Biden’s White House was full of intellectual titans of any race beggars belief. If Jean-Pierre is now “kinda dumb,” just a year ago, she was worthy of being honored at the “first-ever White House brunch…in celebration of black excellence.”
At the brunch, Biden thanked Jean-Pierre for being part of “the most diverse administration in American history.” (RELATED: Team Biden’s Implosion Exposes Democrats’ Biggest Lie)
“In just 3½ years, we’ve created over 2 million new Black jobs for black—[laughter]—black Americans and black—[laughter],” Biden gloated. “By the way, the next black job to be filled is as President of the United States of America. [Applause] Oh, I—watch me.”
It would seem selecting race as the primary qualification for a position has its drawbacks. Like, say, appointing a totally inept woman as the intermediary between you and the press. Then again, Jean-Pierre and Biden were fairly well-matched. Both had tremendous difficulty putting together full sentences.
