An anonymous bomb threat was reportedly sent Tuesday to every public school in Maryland.
Baltimore County school officials sent a note alerting parents of the threat, which claimed explosive devices were planted in all Baltimore County and Maryland school buildings, according to Fox 45 News.
“Baltimore County Schools just sent an email to parents saying they received anonymous threats that ‘explosive devices’ have been placed in ‘all BCPS schools and in all Maryland public schools.’ Police have been alerted. Threats are being investigated,” Fox 45 investigative reporter Chris Papst wrote on Twitter.

“Our School Resource Officers (SROs) are on alert and will be working closely with school administrators throughout the day. At this time, we have not received threats targeting specific BCPS schools, however, we take all threats seriously and are grateful for the support and partnership of BCoPD as we work to ensure the safety of all Team BCPS staff and students,” the note from Baltimore County Schools said.
The FBI responded to the situation in a statement to Fox 45 News.
“The FBI remains vigilant and continues to work closely with our law enforcement partners on a state and local level. The FBI asks members of the public to maintain awareness of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement,” the statement read.
