Arkansas Mom Found Dead With Her Two Children Had Visited State Senator For Help

A mom found dead with her two children inside an Arkansas home Dec. 3 had previously visited her state senator to ask for help, the lawmaker confirmed to a local outlet.

Charity Beallis visited Republican Arkansas State Sen. Terry Rice earlier this year, Rice told 5 News Online. Beallis was allegedly trangled by her husband, Dr. Randy Beallis, in front of their two children in February and had filed for divorce in March, according to court records.

Beallis reportedly told Rice she feared for her life and those of her offspring, prompting him to put her in contact with resources available via the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division. The final divorce hearing was held Dec. 2 at the Sebastian County Courthouse, 5 News Online reported.

Police discovered Beallis and her six-year-old twins’ bodies fatally shot at a residence on South 1st Avenue in Bonanza during a Dec. 3 welfare check, according to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said they did not consider Beallis’ ex-husband a suspect as of Dec. 5, 4029 News reported.

Beallis’ father, Randy Powell, told 4029 TV he was “heartbroken” at the deaths of his daughter and grandchildren.

“I don’t know how to describe it, sir. Tears, heartbroken, unbelievable, and anger. Thinking maybe I was dreaming that somebody of having a nightmare in that way. Maybe somebody wake me up, and this wouldn’t be true,” Powell said.

Beallis and her ex-husband shared the two children, who were born in 2019. She had petitioned the judge for full custody since her ex-husband was charged with domestic violence charges, a March court filing read. Randy Beallis was charged with aggravated assault on a family member, third-degree domestic battery, and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, according to a March criminal information sheet. He allegedly strangled Charity back in February.

His charges were amended to feature only third-degree battery, to which he pleaded guilty in October 2025. The court imposed a one-year suspended imposition of sentence and ordered him to pay $1,500 and $150 in court fees. He was also told not to contact with Charity or her family unless authorized by a court order for visitation purposes, the outlet reported. Randy Beallis secured joint custody of the children at the Dec. 2 divorce hearing, 4029 TV reported, citing an email from his lawyer. The attorney said he is cooperating with an investigation from the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office directed the Daily Caller to its public press release. The Daily Caller contacted Republican Arkansas State Sen. Terry Rice for comment.
