- President Biden insists he was not on “vacation” when he went to his Delaware beach house over the weekend.
- “The reason I’m here today, just for one day — I know people [say] I’m on vacation, I’m not,” Biden told reporters in Delaware on Sunday. “I have no home to go to. Secret Service has torn my house up in a good way to make it secure.”
- Biden has frequently ventured to his main home in Wilmington, Del., during trips to the First State but opted to stay at his Rehoboth Beach house Sunday. The shore visit came after he toured some of Hurricane Idalia’s wreckage in Florida on Saturday. “I have no place to go when I come to Delaware except here right now,” he added from Rehoboth.
