Biden is an ‘uninspiring candidate,’ says Charlamagne tha God – Washington Examiner

Popular radio host Charlamagne tha God pegged President Joe Biden as an “uninspiring candidate” and called former President Donald Trump “a threat to democracy.”

Charlamagne, whose real name is Lenard McKelvey, said that Biden should rely on surrogates who are more “inspiring” than him and rather play a “behind the scenes” role in the 2024 presidential election, which appears ever more likely to be a rematch between Biden and Trump, who both have low overall approval ratings.

“He’s just an uninspiring candidate. There’s nothing about Joe Biden that makes you want to listen to him,” Charlamagne, who is a co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show the Breakfast Club, said on ABC’s This Week.

“That’s why he should be leaning on his vice president, Kamala Harris, who is way more charismatic than him,” he said.

Charlamagne also suggested that Biden lean on other surrogates like Democratic Govs. Gavin Newsom of California and Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania. He said that Biden has “no main character energy.”

“He should be leaning on people who are more inspiring than him, who are more charismatic than him, and he should just be, I guess, if you want to call it, the brains of the operation,” the influential radio host said.

Charlamagne said that while Trump, 77, is just a few years younger than Biden, 81, the former president comes off as “a lot more youthful” and like he has “a lot more energy.”

“Donald Trump seems more sincere about his lies than Joe Biden does about his truth,” Charlamagne quipped.

And while he had tough words for Biden, Charlamagne said that Trump is “a threat to democracy.”

“For years, they’ve told us, these people are threats to democracy. This person is absolutely a threat to democracy,” he said.
