United States Border Patrol agents discovered and seized at least 42 illegal immigrants smuggled into the country and hidden in a Texas motel.

The incident occurred on Friday on the eastern side of El Paso after agents with the Ysleta Station Anti-Smuggling Unit were made aware of the stash house, according to a report.

Upon arriving at the location, the horde of immigrants, who were identified as Mexican, Guatemalan, and Honduran nationals, were encountered by agents.

At least seven unaccompanied minors from Mexico were discovered among the illegal immigrants, but all were declared in good health after medical screening, the report noted.

Twenty-seven of the immigrants were sent back to Mexico via Voluntary Return, three were prosecuted under Title 8 U.S.C. 1324 Conspiracy to Transport, and one was prosecuted under Title 8 U.S.C. 1326 Prior Order of Removal, according to the report.

The other illegal immigrants, including the minors, were taken to the El Paso Hardened Facility to be processed.

“Whether using motel rooms, houses, or other locations, stash houses amount to nothing more than warehouses for smugglers to store their commodities,” Border Patrol said in a statement posted to social media. “Their conditions are never good for the migrants or the communities.”
