BREAKING: Top Republicans Banned Dan Crenshaw From International Travel After Alcohol-Reated Episode During Congressional Trip to Mexico

Top Republicans banned GOP Rep Dan Crenshaw (TX) from international travel for three months after an alcohol-related episode during a congressional trip to Mexico in August, according to Punchbowl News.

The House Intel Chair wanted Speaker Mike Johnson to kick Crenshaw from the Committee, however, Johnson declined.

However, Congressman Crenshaw’s ‘cartel task force’ was disbanded according to Punchbowl News.

Per Punchbowl News:

During an August trip to Mexico, Crenshaw was having drinks with a group of Mexican officials. One Mexican official cracked a crude joke that made a woman present uncomfortable. Crenshaw toasted the remarks.

Johnson, Crawford and Crenshaw huddled at the beginning of September following the August trip.

The meeting was heated, according to multiple sources familiar with the Intelligence Committee and its inner workings.

Crawford banned Crenshaw from traveling as part of his Intelligence Committee duties — a decision that the chair saw as being authorized by the GOP leadership.

Crawford and Crenshaw had already been feuding over Crawford’s push for counterintelligence reforms in the annual intel authorization bill.

Multiple sources familiar with the matter said Crawford was frustrated with Crenshaw’s lack of support for the plan. The language ultimately ended up in the House version of the intel authorization bill.
