Cassidy Hutchinson singles out three Republicans in denouncing House GOP as ‘complete disgrace’ – Washington Examiner

Former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson bashed House Republicans as a “complete disgrace,” singling out three congressmen who have staunchly backed former President Donald Trump.

In an appearance on MSNBC’s Inside with Jen Psaki, Hutchinson targeted Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Elise Stefanik (R-NY), and Nancy Mace (R-SC) and called them “enablers.” She claimed that they were lying to their constituents and were serving as “loyal foot soldiers” of Trump.

“It’s not just Jim Jordan. The entire House Republican conference right now is a complete disgrace, not only to the Republican Party but to Americans,” Hutchinson said. “As important as it is to make sure that Donald Trump never gets near the Oval Office again, we also need to focus on Congress and to make sure that everybody in Congress who has been an enabler of Donald Trump, people like Jim Jordan, people like Elise Stefanik and Nancy Mace, who have devoted their careers in this … part of American history to becoming loyal foot soldiers of Donald Trump.”

Hutchinson emerged as one of the most high-profile witnesses against Trump during the Jan. 6 Committee hearings. Her outspoken testimony landed the ire of Trump’s supporters, but it also helped her earn a book deal.

A House Republican report released earlier this month cast doubt on much of Hutchinson’s testimony, finding the testimonies of other staffers contradicted some of her assertions. Particularly, it dismissed the “sensational story” Hutchinson told under oath on several occasions, alleging that Trump tried to hijack the presidential limousine to head toward the Capitol and join his supporters.
