Chaos Erupts In Courtroom As Singer Faces Murder Charges in Grisly Dismemberment Case

An alleged bomb threat forced an evacuation of Los Angeles County Courthouse, where singer D4vd was facing murder charges in the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

An alleged bomb scare Monday triggered a major response at the court, TMZ reported. Authorities swarmed the building and deployed K-9 units after allegedly receiving a verbal threat.

D4vd’s arraignment was temporarily halted and parts of the courthouse were evacuated, with media instructed to leave as a precaution while officials worked to assess the threat. An all-clear was ultimately given, TNZ reported.

The chaotic scene unfolded just as the cause of 14-year-old Hernandez’ death was revealed.

Prosecutors in the case alleged that D4vd killed the young girl with a “sharp instrument,” according to TMZ. They allege that D4vd murdered her April 23, 2025, but did not mutilate and dismember her body until May 5. The outlet previously reported that the singer took a vacation to a remote area of Santa Barbara in the spring of 2025, which may align with the date of May 5.

The district attorney claimed the young girl’s allegedly dismembered and decomposing body was left in D4vd’s Tesla for 4 months before being discovered, according to TMZ. Police noted that the level of decomposition of the body parts located in two bags made it difficult for the medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of death, the outlet reported.

Prosecutors alleged Hernandez went to D4vd’s Hollywood Hills home in April 2025, and no one has heard from her since. They further alleged that D4vd was having sex with Hernandez when she was a minor and that D4vd allegedly sexually abused her before she turned 14, according to TMZ.

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Police Chief Jim McDonnell claimed there was evidence that D4vd and Hernandez were involved in a sexual relationship.

Los Angeles Police officers arrested D4vd Thursday and charged him with first-degree murder with special circumstances, mutilating a body and lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, the outlet reported. (RELATED: Singer D4vd Arrested On Murder Charges In Death Of Celeste Rivas Hernandez)

The special circumstances include lying in wait, committing the crime for financial gain and murdering a witness to an investigation, according to TMZ. District Attorney Nathan Hochman claimed D4vd killed Hernandez to save his music career after Hernandez threatened to expose their alleged sexual relationship.

D4vd is also known as David Anthony Burke.

His attorneys previously issued a statement to TMZ.

“Let us be clear – the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” they said.

D4vd’s family has also publicly backed him.
