In a new wide-ranging interview, legendary singer Cher threatened to leave the country if former President Donald Trump is elected in the 2024 election.

“I almost got an ulcer the last time,” Cher said. “If he gets in, who knows? This time I will leave [the country].”

The former president has maintained a continuous lead over his fellow Republican presidential rivals. In 2016, Cher had previously threatened to “leave the planet” if he won the presidential race.

Trump has rolled the singer on social media over the years, responding to her various political commentaries.

In 2019, Cher posted in her mostly all-caps style about how Los Angeles is ill-equipped to deal with a large influx of illegal immigrants.

“I Understand Helping struggling Immigrants, but MY CITY (Los Angeles) ISNT TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN.WHAT ABOUT THE 50,000+Citizens WHO LIVE ON THE STREETS.PPL WHO LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE,& HUNGRY? If My State Can’t Take Care of Its Own(Many Are VETS)How Can it Take Care Of More,” Cher said.

Donald Trump Jr. posted that he “finally” agreed with her and added on Instagram, “Welcome to the Republican Party Cher!!!”

The 77-year-old “I Got You Babe” singer reflected on her long music career and weighed in transgender politics as the mother of Chaz Bono, who identifies as transgender.

“It’s something like 500 bills they’re trying to pass,” Cher said. “I was with two trans girls the other night and of course my own child [Chaz is trans]. I was saying, ‘We’ve got to stand together.’ I don’t know what their eventual plan is for trans people. I don’t put anything past them.”

The music star gave the Guardian an interview in advance of her new first-ever Christmas album titled Christmas. The 13-track album, featuring guests Cyndi Lauper, Michael Bublé, Stevie Wonder, and Tyga, is set to debut this week on Friday, Oct. 20.

She has had numerous musical comebacks and retirements during her career, which has spanned more than 50 years. In 2002, she had her “Living Proof: The Farewell Tour” ending in 2005, earning $250 million.

The retirement was short-lived when she returned three years later in 2008 to perform a 200-performance residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. She followed up with starring in the hit 2010 movie Burlesque. She debuted her Closer to the Truth album in 2013 and insisted that her “Dressed to Kill Tour” in 2014 would be her last farewell tour but has since had more residency shows in Las Vegas, movie roles, won numerous awards, and sold her own perfume.
