CIA Headquarters on Lockdown After Man with Gun Fires Shots – Update – Suspect Taken Into Custody

The CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia, was locked down on Wednesday morning after a man with a gun reportedly fired shots into the air.
Police and SWAT responded to reports of an armed man reportedly suffering from a ‘mental crisis.’

A large police response was seen outside Central Intelligence Agency headquarters in McLean on Wednesday morning. Roads in the area are shut down to traffic due to the police presence.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, authorities are responding to reports of an armed man experiencing a mental health crisis on CIA property just outside headquarters.
Fairfax County Police are providing crisis negotiators and other support to CIA Police, who are leading the investigation. Additional details have not been made public.
As of 11:25 a.m., Dolly Madison Boulevard is shut down in both directions between Georgetown Pike and Savile Lane. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routs if possible. Those in the area should follow police direction.
