Customers who purchased Dude Wipes have one more day to file an objection or exclusion from a $9 million class-action settlement with the company.

The company was accused by some consumers of making them believe its wipes were “flushable” when they were not. Dude Products has denied any wrongdoing but has agreed to this settlement to avoid litigation against consumers. The exclusion and objection deadline has been set for Oct. 27.

The deadline for customers who purchased the wipes between Feb. 5, 2015, and Aug. 8, 2023, to file a claim to receive a piece of the up to $9 million settlement is Nov. 11.

Those who are eligible for the settlement must file a claim to receive a payment. Affected customers can claim up to $0.50 per product, with a maximum of five per household without proof of purchase and a maximum of 40 per household with proof of purchase. The court said customers filing a claim may submit either with proof of purchase or without proof of purchase but not both.

The final approval hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 16, when customers may speak their thoughts regarding the proposed settlement. If a customer agrees to the settlement, they will be bound to the terms of the agreement and will give up certain rights to levy claims against the company, according to the court. More information about the settlement can be found on the website, which was authorized by the court.

Another class-action settlement with a deadline soon is for Capital One customers after a hacker gained access to millions of customers’ personal information. The deadline to claim a piece of that settlement is Nov. 27.
